At around 10 to 12 months old, a baby’s digestive function is basically mature, and their nutritional needs gradually increase. Breast milk, in terms of quantity and quality, can no longer meet the demands of growth and development, making this the appropriate time for weaning.
As babies grow, the nutrients provided by breast milk no longer fully meet their growth and development needs. Generally, it is recommended to consider weaning around 9 to 12 months of age. In areas where dairy products or substitutes are scarce, weaning can be delayed to around 18 months.
