Complete adhesion between the prepuce and the root of the glans is often due to an original inflammatory condition, with the severity of inflammation correlating to the extent of adhesion. After surgery, a cream (such as Vaseline) should be applied between the prepuce and glans to prevent reattachment of any remaining prepuce and glans.
