The Impact and Control of Staphylococcus in Neonatal Blood Tests

The presence of staphylococci on a neonatal blood test may indicate sepsis in the infant. Blood is the nutrient-rich fluid that can lead to localized infections such as umbilical cord infection, meningitis, or pneumonia, or to a systemic multi-organ disease outbreak. If there is no allergic reaction to the skin test, some antibiotics can be used for treatment.
