Neonatal pulmonary arterial hypertension is caused by increased pulmonary resistance, usually due to pulmonary diseases such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and bronchiectasis. These are incurable conditions, so the cause of pulmonary arterial hypertension cannot be eradicated, making it incurable. It can only be relieved through medication. The cause may be multifaceted, and congenital pulmonary arterial disease is one of them.
