Causes and Treatment of Newborn Scalp Fever

Newborn scalp fever may be due to an underdeveloped thermoregulatory center, thin subcutaneous fat, and a relatively large body surface area, leading to easy heat dissipation. The epidermal keratin layer is also thin, making the scalp more susceptible to heat loss. Since the head has a larger surface area, more heat is dissipated, which is why you may feel that the scalp is always hot. Don’t worry; it’s probably nothing serious. Please rest assured.
