Causes of Elbow Bursitis and Distinguishing from Osteomylitis

Elbow bursitis can be categorized into bacterial inflammation and aseptic inflammation. The former is often caused by bacterial infections from other parts of the body, while the latter is commonly due to chronic damage or regional injury. Osteomylitis, on the other hand, is a chronic membranous damage or infectious membranous damage caused by the expansion, congestion, edema, or subperiosteal hemorrhage of the periosteum and its blood vessels, with the formation of blood clots, periosteal hyperplasia, and inflammatory changes.
