Definition of Pediatric Cerebral Palsy

Pediatric cerebral palsy refers to a non-progressive brain injury or brain developmental abnormality caused by various reasons within the period from before birth to one month after birth, leading to central nervous system motor disorders. Clinically, it manifests as abnormal posture and muscle tone, muscle weakness, involuntary movements, and ataxia, often accompanied by sensory, cognitive, communication, behavioral impairments, and skeletal muscle abnormalities. It may also sometimes trigger epilepsy seizures.
