How to Feed Medication for Neonatal Jaundice?
Neonates may develop varying degrees of jaundice within the first two to three days after birth, which usually fades gradually over the next seven days to about a month. Jaundice may be caused by damp-heat affecting the liver and gallbladder. If breastfed, it might be due to the mother’s constitution of damp-heat. It is recommended to immediately stop breastfeeding and switch to formula feeding, while also administering traditional Chinese medicine decoctions to the baby, 10 milliliters each time, twice a day. The mother should drink half a kilogram of boiled water from celery daily to help expel damp-heat from her body.
