Fetal Lateral Ventricular Hydrocephalus
At a 36-week fetal checkup, it was observed that the left renal central collecting system was separated, with a fluid level of 8.8mm in the posterior horn of the lateral ventricle on the left side, and also noted in the anterior horn and posterior fossa. I am curious to know if this is normal and if it will affect the fetus. The response indicated that fluid levels up to 10mm are generally not a concern, and that the fluid has no direct relationship with the head circumference, but it may affect the fetus.
