Risk and Treatment of Neonatal Jaundice

Newborns often develop jaundice a few days after birth, which can be alleviated by drinking glucose water. Traditional Chinese medicine can also be effective. Jaundice usually subsides on its own within two weeks. If it persists after two weeks, it’s advisable to have the baby’s bilirubin levels checked at a pediatric hospital. If the levels are within the normal range, continue with hydration and sunlight exposure. If they’re not, hospitalization for blue light therapy may be necessary. Wishing the baby a speedy recovery!
