Generally, a four-month-old baby is not suitable for practicing sitting as it may affect their spinal development. However, if your child can sit up steadily at around five months old, it may indicate that their nervous system is developing well. Nevertheless, it is still recommended not to let babies sit for long periods before they are six months old, and to provide proper support when they sit to protect their spine.
