Why Are Epileptic Children More Likely to Have Intellectual Disabilities?

Status epilepticus is a critical and life-threatening condition. If not treated promptly, it can lead to cerebral edema, cerebellar herniation, respiratory and circulatory failure, and even death. When family members notice that a patient is experiencing status epilepticus, they should immediately take the patient to the hospital for treatment. During the trip to the hospital, if there are benzodiazepine injection, diazepam injection, or enema preparations available at home, they can be given to the patient once, and the time and dosage of administration should be recorded, so that the doctor can understand the condition and provide appropriate treatment.
