What are the Symptoms of Dwarfism?

The main symptoms of dwarfism include short stature, slowed growth rate, delayed bone maturation, and metabolic abnormalities. This condition is categorized as growth delayed dwarfism, abnormal proportional dwarfism, normal body type, and normal growth rate dwarfism. It may coexist with primary diseases or associated symptoms, such as adrenal cortex hormone deficiency which may lead to hypoglycemia, hypothyroidism, a lower basal metabolic rate, significantly delayed bone age, and in some cases, intellectual disability. In cases with gonadotropin deficiency, incomplete gonadal development and small penis may occur.
