Epilepsy patients should avoid foods rich in zinc and those that can trigger seizures, such as lamb, dog meat, roosters, wild ducks, carp, etc. Spicy and irritating foods like chili and coffee should also be avoided. Sweet foods can be consumed in moderation, and daily food choices can include dairy products, vegetable oils, and a small amount of animal fats, as well as animal organs, eggs, seaweed, shrimp shells, hairtail fish, and fresh vegetables.
Epilepsy patients should be cautious when eating fruits. Avoid eating persimmons, hawthorn, and bananas on an empty stomach or after consuming protein-rich foods, as these fruits contain high levels of tannins which may cause gastrointestinal discomfort and poor protein absorption. Additionally, choose fruits suitable for your constitution.
