Treatment Methods for Congenital Vaginal Agenesis

Congenital vaginal agenesis is a condition caused by abnormal development of the reproductive organs during embryonic stages. Currently, surgical treatment is most commonly used, with over 20 different surgical methods available. However, these methods have various drawbacks, such as significant surgical trauma, and the artificial vagina constructed may experience dryness, unpleasant odors, and dissatisfaction with sexual life, which can have adverse effects on both partners’ physical and mental well-being. Therefore, the current treatment methods still require improvement, and a new type of vaginaloplasty with fewer side effects, less trauma, and greater alignment with physiological requirements needs to be developed to treat congenital vaginal agenesis.
