Tips for Caring for Newborns

If the baby’s suckling speed slows down or stops, or milk starts to leak from the corners of the mouth, you should first stop breastfeeding and burp the baby. Traditionally, mothers often hold the baby upright to burp, but this is not the best method. A better approach is to lean the baby’s upper body forward and support it, allowing the baby to sit on the mother’s lap, while observing whether the baby is vomiting or spitting up milk.
