Treating Children’s Fever

When a child has a fever over 38.5 degrees Celsius, ibuprofen can be considered to help reduce the fever. If the medication does not work within an hour and the body temperature rises above 39 degrees Celsius, try using alcohol to cool down. However, for infants, alcohol may be too stimulating and is not recommended. If these methods are ineffective, it may be necessary to go to the hospital for intramuscular injections of fever-reducing medication and further treatment.
