Life Expectancy of Down Syndrome
Patients with Down syndrome often have other congenital malformations, weakened immune function, and are prone to infections. The incidence of leukemia is 10 to 30 times higher than that of the general population. If they survive into adulthood, symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease usually appear after the age of 30.
