Why Does My Baby’s Urine Appear Yellow?

A baby’s urine appearing yellow may be due to insufficient water intake and urine concentration. However, if this persists over a long period, it should be checked to rule out liver and bile duct diseases causing a decrease in bilirubin excretion or an increase in production, which can lead to an increased bilirubin content in the urine. Additionally, urine may also appear yellow during inflammation. It is recommended to undergo a routine urine test to determine if it is normal. Normally, urine should be clear, light yellow when there is more urine, and dark yellow when there is less urine, especially the first urine after waking up. Changes in urine color may be due to insufficient water intake, medication use, or certain diseases. A normal person’s urine should be light yellow.
