Question

What to do if my baby loves to sleep but not eat milk? Will the jaundice be high?

Answer

This situation might be physiological jaundice. Mild jaundice appears as a pale yellow color, confined to the face and neck, and sometimes spreads to other parts of the body, including the whites of the eyes. This type of jaundice usually appears within 2 to 3 days after birth and subsides around 5 to 6 days later, with the skin color returning to normal. In severe cases, jaundice may last for more than a week, even up to 4 weeks in some premature infants. The baby’s stool will still be yellow, and the urine will not contain bilirubin. It is recommended to use blue light therapy, which often has a certain effect.
