Question
What’s wrong if a baby boy has only one testicle?
Answer
A scrotal ultrasound is needed to confirm whether it is an undescended testicle. If it is an undescended testicle, an abdominal exploration should be performed to locate the position of this testicle, and then it can be removed through surgery. Simply having one undescended testicle will not affect future pregnancy, but if the abdominal testicle is not removed, it is prone to malignancy.
