Question

What clinical symptoms might occur if a child has tonsillitis?

Answer

When a child develops tonsillitis, they will first feel a sore throat, which will also affect their normal swallowing. Along with the sore throat, some children may also experience fever, which could be a persistent low-grade fever or even a high fever reaching 40 degrees Celsius. Accompanying the fever might be chills, weakness, and headaches. At this point, the child’s tonsils will also be red and swollen, and they may even have an enlarged appearance. The child might also develop complications such as sepsis, arthritis, and skin disorders. If the child’s condition is worsening continuously, it is advisable for parents not to delay and to take their child for treatment as soon as possible.
