There are many reasons for a child’s fever, commonly due to infections. Before the inflammation is effectively controlled, there may be recurrent fevers. If the child is otherwise in good spirits, has a good appetite, and looks well, there should be no major problems. Antiviral treatment can include ribavirin and other medications, and a mycoplasma antibody test can be conducted to rule out mycoplasma infection.
