When neonatal jaundice is pathological, the following points should be noted: (1) Jaundice appears early, within 24 hours after birth; (2) Jaundice symptoms are severe, with the entire body skin showing a golden yellow color, even the palms of the hands and soles of the feet are distinctly yellow; (3) Jaundice lasts too long, not subsiding or deepening repeatedly after 2-3 weeks of birth; (4) Accompanied by anemia or light-colored stools; (5) Abnormal body temperature, decreased appetite, vomiting, and other symptoms. In these cases, it is important to find the cause quickly and receive appropriate treatment.
