Question
Will a child develop a fever after receiving a PPD injection?
Answer
Children may occasionally develop a fever after receiving a PPD injection. Generally, it is advised not to exceed 38 degrees Celsius. In such cases, there is no need to take antipyretic medication. Physical cooling methods are recommended, such as using alcohol for wiping the body, and washing the face and forehead with warm water. If the fever exceeds 38 degrees Celsius, ibuprofen suspension or naproxen can usually be taken.
