Question

What methods can be used to suck out a baby’s phlegm?

Answer

Hello, you can help your child cough up phlegm by patting them. Do it frequently. When patting, use a hollow palm, apply more force, like you’re patting a blanket – it may sound a bit scary, but the hollow palm won’t hurt. Pat from the bottom up, not directly on the middle of the back, but on both sides. Make sure to give your child plenty of water, as this makes it easier to cough up phlegm. But avoid giving them sugar water.
