Questions

When should Down syndrome screening be done? I’ve missed the screening time, I’ve heard that Down syndrome screening is very important. Is there anything I can do to make up for it? What aspects of the fetus does this main screening check? And what other checks are necessary, can the system B-ultrasound detect whether the fetus has malformations or if its intelligence is normal?

Answers

Hello! Down syndrome screening is just one type of prenatal screening that can more sensitively assess the risk of chromosomal abnormalities, but it cannot evaluate a child’s intelligence. It is recommended that you undergo a 3D fetal abnormality screening around 24 weeks of pregnancy, which can more finely check the child’s development, including whether any organs have malformations. As for the issues with calcium, iron, and zinc, it is recommended that you take them for a month and check again to see if they have returned to normal. If they have not returned to normal, you may need to continue or adjust the dosage. If they are normal, then that’s fine.
