Question
Hello! I’m currently 6 months pregnant and have been experiencing back pain lately. Last night, my calves cramped up. Could this be due to a calcium deficiency? Although I’ve been supplementing with calcium daily since month 5 of pregnancy, it seems like it’s still not enough. What should I do? Thank you!
Answer
Increase sun exposure and consume more calcium-rich foods such as bone broth, carp soup, and lean meat. Additionally, drinking milk is one of the safest and most effective ways to supplement calcium. Milk is rich in calcium, with 100 grams containing 100-110 milligrams, which is easily absorbed by the body. Generally speaking, food supplementation is more ideal than medication.
