Question
Can a baby take cold medicine if they have a cold and diarrhea?
Answer
When a baby has diarrhea, they can still take cold medicine. However, it’s generally best to take the medication for diarrhea before meals to aid absorption; for cold medicine, it’s preferable to take it after meals. Of course, taking both together won’t have any adverse effects. For diarrhea, you can opt for Montmorillonite powder. For the cold medicine, you can use Xiao Kuaikang, which comes in strawberry flavor and half-separate packaging for convenience. Some babies might also enjoy being fed, in which case you can give them Children’s Seven Star Tea. Just be sure not to give Children’s Seven Star Tea when they have diarrhea. You can drink dilute salt water and avoid irritating foods. Wishing the baby a quick recovery.
