Question

A 45-year-old female patient with a history of rheumatism experienced a head injury on the left upper corner of her head at 6 am, leading to brain edema without external bleeding. Her body temperature is normal, and she has no other adverse reactions!

Answer

Hello. In terms of daily care: maintain water intake, usually around 500ml to 1000ml. Control blood pressure within the range of 90-140/60-90 mmHg. Keep body temperature between 32-37°C. Reduce salt intake to about 6-8g per day. Treatment: administer 250ml of 20% mannitol intravenously, completing the injection in 20-30 minutes. Alternatively, oral isosorbide solution can be taken.
