Question

At 23 weeks + 4 days of pregnancy, the biparietal diameter is 5.9 cm, and the femoral length is 3.7 cm. The femoral length is shorter than normal. Is there a problem?

Answer

A shorter femoral length may be due to measurement error, the baby’s naturally short legs, or chromosomal abnormalities such as Trisomy 21 or Trisomy 18. There is currently no medical method to solve potential congenital chromosomal abnormalities.
