Question

What are the complications of acute anemia?

Answer

Acute hemorrhagic anemia occurs due to external trauma or disease leading to vascular rupture, or due to disorders in coagulation and hemostasis that result in significant blood loss over a short period. This not only affects blood volume but also causes anemia following acute blood loss. Initially, symptoms may include thirst, nausea, shortness of breath, severe dizziness, and even temporary loss of consciousness. In severe cases, it can lead to acute hemorrhage and even shock.
