Question
My child has been coughing with a whistling sound in the trachea for some time now. What should I do?
Answer
Hello, based on your description, your child may have acute bronchitis with complications of pneumonia. Preliminary assessment excludes bronchial asthma. Since the illness has been ongoing for a while, it is recommended that you have routine blood tests, chest X-rays, and other tests, including cold agglutination tests and C-reactive protein tests. For treatment, it is suggested to receive intravenous infusions of azithromycin, ambroxol, vitamin C, virazole, theophylline, potassium chloride, and other medications. Additionally, take oral cough mixture, expectorant medicine, and ensure adequate water intake. Also, make sure your child gets enough rest and eats plenty of vegetables and fruits.
