Question
What should be noticed when treating pediatric sleep epilepsy?
Answer
Patients with epilepsy should avoid engaging in overly strenuous physical activities, avoid over-intense mental labor, avoid staying up late, and refrain from prolonged TV watching or computer use. Their diet should be light, and they should avoid smoking, drinking alcohol, or consuming strong tea. They should not overeat or consume spicy and irritating foods, as well as those high in caffeine. They should not drive vehicles or perform high-altitude work, and they should not work or play near rivers or wells. They should maintain a cheerful mood, avoid catching colds and experiencing high fevers, and avoid prolonged TV, computer, and mobile phone use. It is also not advisable to watch exciting and stimulating TV programs and video games.
