Question

Two-month-old baby continues to have bloody stools, please advise on treatment and diet adjustments? The baby weighed 2770g at birth, and the first feed was formula milk. By the 7th day, the baby started on exclusive breastfeeding. Since birth, the baby’s stools have always contained milk residue, appearing yellow-green, with few pastyand golden hues. Around 20 days old, I first noticed fine blood strands in the stool, which then returned to normal. At 50 days, blood was again detected in the stool. The hospital tested for routine stool analysis, occult blood, rotavirus, and adenovirus, with only occult blood showing positive results. The doctor prescribed Bifidobacterium and L-lysine Inositol Vitamin B12 oral liquid, and injected Vitamin K1. The mother was advised to avoid spicy and greasy foods, and not to consume milk, eggs, and soy products. At 54 days, another routine stool analysis + occult blood + rotavirus test showed white blood cells 1+, red blood cells 0-2, and weakly positive occult blood. At 76 days, a routine stool analysis + occult blood test showed white blood cells 0-2, red blood cells 4-6, and positive occult blood. Three days prior, the mother had consumed seafood continuously. The baby has about 10 bowel movements a day, mostly milk residue and water separated. Since several stools were extracted from the diaper, the doctor did not give a specific diagnosis but suspected diarrhea.
