Question

If a child has recurrent pneumonia, is it possible for it to develop into asthma?

Answer

Bronchopneumonia, also known as lobular pneumonia, is the most common type of pneumonia in children, especially common in infants. This disease often occurs during winter and spring, as well as during sudden changes in weather. It is easily triggered in environments with overcrowded indoor living, poor ventilation, poor air quality, and a high concentration of pathogenic microorganisms. Bronchopneumonia can be caused by bacteria or viruses and can be divided into two types based on pathological changes: ordinary bronchopneumonia and interstitial bronchopneumonia. Ordinary bronchopneumonia is usually caused by bacteria, while interstitial bronchopneumonia is primarily caused by viruses. Clinically, these two types are often diagnosed together as bronchopneumonia.
