Question
A few days ago, my child caught a cold, and the medicine didn’t work. They started coughing, lost their appetite, and didn’t want to play with their friends. The hospital said it was asthma. What are the symptoms?
Answer
Children with asthma may experience restlessness, difficulty breathing, especially during exhalation, often unable to lie flat, sitting or standing with bent shoulders and back, and finding it hard to breathe in a seated position. Sometimes, wheezing sounds can be heard outside. The child’s face may appear pale, with flaring nostrils, and purple lips and nails. They may even sweat coldly and look anxious and restless. These often indicate a serious condition that requires prompt treatment.
