Question

Fever every day since last May.

Answer

IgA nephropathy is an immunopathological diagnosis characterized by nephritis with hematuria as the primary symptom. This condition often involves deposits of IgA in the glomerular mesangial area and is common in children. Diagnosis relies on renal tissue biopsy to rule out other diseases associated with IgA deposits, such as purpura nephritis, lupus nephritis, and hepatitis B nephritis. Due to the large variability in pathological types and degrees of glomerular damage in IgA nephropathy, there is currently no unified treatment protocol. Treatment primarily focuses on symptom relief and is based on experience. It should be noted that if left untreated, IgA nephropathy may eventually progress to end-stage renal failure.
