Question
How can one effectively treat a child with asthma?
Answer
In general, the treatment for pediatric asthma, based on clinical experience, focuses on expectorating, cough suppression, and anti-inflammatory measures before the age of 12. Approximately 70% of children with asthma will recover spontaneously during adolescence, although it’s not uncommon for those with poorer lung function to continue experiencing the condition into adulthood. If a child with acute asthma requires hospitalization for a week and their blood count remains stable, PE symptoms are normal, and there are no dry or wet rales or wheezing sounds in the lungs, they can be discharged.
