A 22-year-old male patient fell ill on August 25th this year and sought medical attention the next day. In the initial phase, he took medication and received one week of acupuncture and one month of physical therapy. In the second month, he underwent three weeks of acupuncture treatment, and from the third month onwards, he began receiving injections of mouse nerve growth factor, with approximately two weeks elapsed so far. The recovery was faster in the first month, but it started to slow down in the second month. Although he can now smile, the range on the affected side is significantly less than on the normal side, with his mouth skewed and fewer forehead wrinkles. Electromyography (EMG) tests show that over 70% of the nerve damage has occurred. The mouth issues are more pronounced during static conditions. The doctor believes that the condition is not severe, but the patient feels that the mouth deviation is too obvious, especially noticeable when speaking and even more so when laughing.
