Question

My baby is two months old and is currently taking Ikexin. I would like to consult with a doctor about how long it is appropriate for my baby to take it.

Answer

Ikexin primarily contains Vitamin D, and a deficiency may lead to calcium deficiency and rickets. If the baby is healthy, has good appetite, and is rarely sick, the duration of use can be shortened. As long as it is not taken in excess and there are no signs of toxicity, extending the duration of use is fine. If there is a calcium deficiency, the supplement should be continued; if not, and the appetite is good, it may not be necessary to continue taking it. Additionally, getting plenty of sunlight can promote the skin’s production of Vitamin D.
