Question
Why do ears hurt in winter?
Answer
In cold weather, exposure of the ears to the cold wind can cause pain, which may lead to frostbite. Here are two methods to prevent and treat ear frostbite:
- Apply fresh ginger slices to the skin where frostbite commonly occurs, doing so for several consecutive days to prevent frostbite from occurring. If frostbite has already appeared, heat fresh ginger juice to thicken it into a paste, let it cool, and then apply it to the affected area twice a day for three consecutive days for relief.
- Use “Shidui Water” externally on the frostbite area, applying it 6 to 10 times a day, which is more effective for unfractionated frostbite. If the skin in the affected area has broken and become ulcerous, apply Mupirocin Ointment first to reduce inflammation before using Shidui Water.
