Question

Do babies experience side effects from Hepatitis B vaccination? The baby has had heart surgery, but has recovered.

Answer

Generally, there are no side effects from Hepatitis B vaccination, but a few babies may experience some adverse reactions after vaccination. Guidelines: Some babies may experience varying degrees of fever after vaccination, accompanied by nausea, loss of appetite, poor spirits, abdominal pain, and diarrhea. However, these symptoms usually resolve within 24 hours and will not last more than 3 days at most; if the fever is particularly severe and reaches above 39 degrees Celsius, the child can be given fever-reducing medicine. If the high fever persists or if there are other abnormalities, it is important to seek medical treatment at the hospital as soon as possible.
