Question

I recently discovered a few white spots on my neck while bathing, about the size of beans, perhaps 3 or 4, and they don’t itch or hurt. Since I am pregnant, for safety reasons, I decided to go to the hospital as suggested by my family. The result turned out to be Vitiligo , and now I am very worried.

Answer

Hello, Vitiligo is not contagious. However, it has a certain genetic risk, approximately 10% or so. Besides genetic factors, there are also factors such as infection, chemical factors, mental and nervous factors, autoimmune factors, and endocrine factors that can lead to it. It is often related to the environment, such as lifestyle and diet. It is recommended to have children after the condition is cured to avoid passing it on to the child.
