Question

Is it possible for a child with Hepatitis B surface antigen+ to recover on their own? What precautions should be taken in daily diet?

Answer

If you were previously diagnosed with hepatitis B the triple therapy , treatment would need to be completed before transitioning to surface antigen+ to become pregnant. However, after conception, it is recommended that you consult with a pediatrician and receive hepatitis B immune globulin injections at 7, 8, and 9 months of pregnancy. Your child should also receive a single dose of the injection immediately after birth, followed by another dose at 15 days old. This significantly reduces the risk of infection. Additionally, it is crucial to administer the hepatitis B vaccine regularly from birth to further minimize the chances of infection. The hepatitis B virus does not pass through the placenta to the fetus during pregnancy. The injection of hepatitis B immune globulin is solely to prevent the virus from entering the bloodstream through any minor skin wounds at birth, reducing the viral load.
