Questions
I’ve always heard about precocious puberty, but what exactly is it? What are the specific symptoms of precocious puberty in girls?
Answers
Generally speaking, breast development begins in girls around the age of 10, marking the first sign of adolescence. This is accompanied by the growth of armpit and pubic hair. Girls tend to grow taller at this stage, with an average increase of about 10cm before reaching their growth peak, at which point the epiphyses fuse and growth in height stops. Under the influence of estrogen, during adolescence, girls accumulate more fat in their buttocks, breasts, waist, and lower abdomen, forming a full-fledged female figure. By maturity, a woman’s fat weight is typically twice that of a man. The onset age and developmental sequence of puberty are often influenced by genetic factors, nutritional status, and the endocrine system.
