Question
My baby is three months old and I found two lumps, about the size of a thumb pad, under the nape at the back of his neck. They are soft and movable. The baby is in good spirits and sleeps well. These lumps have been there since two months ago. Are they normal?
Answer
Based on your description, the baby’s symptoms may be lymph nodes. If there is no discomfort and the baby’s overall condition is good, you can continue to observe whether these nodes grow. Typically, there is no need to worry excessively. However, if you feel uneasy, you can take the baby to the hospital for a check-up and, if necessary, a biopsy can be performed for diagnosis. Please note not to frequently touch these areas to avoid inflammation.
