Question

Every time the baby kicks, and when crying forcefully, their legs tremble as if shaking.

Answer

This is a startle reflex, which all babies have. This reflex is most prominent in the first three months after birth and completely disappears by 6 months. The absence of this reflex in the neonatal period indicates brain damage; if one upper limb lacks a startle reflex, it suggests paralysis or clavicle fracture due to birth injury or other factors or causes. The startle reflex can be delayed or disappear in cases of brain damage or acute changes. If the startle reflex persists beyond 4 months, it should be noted. If it appears after 9 months, it is a characteristic of chronic brain changes. Guidance: If you are sleeping beside her, hold her hand, that’s all. Pressing any part of her body during a startle reflex can eliminate it. If you sleep beside her, you will find that her sleep quality improves as well. My baby is still like this at 4 months old.
