Question

My child has unstable sleep, often turning over, and doesn’t sleep during the day but only at night. What are the causes and solutions?

Answer

Not liking a nap may not be a disease in children, but nosebleeds should be actively investigated for their cause. Nosebleeds are more common in children aged 4-10 years, often due to thin mucous membranes and the absence of valves in the vascular network at the anterior inferior part of the nasal septum. The causes of nosebleeds are diverse, including local trauma, inflammation, foreign bodies, and systemic diseases such as blood diseases and liver cirrhosis. When dealing with nosebleeds, have the child sit down, tilt the head slightly forward, avoid lying flat or tilting the head back, apply cold compresses and pressure on the nostrils to reduce bleeding, and maintain indoor humidity. Encourage the child to drink more water, eat more vegetables and fruits, and supplement vitamin C.
