Chalazion, commonly known as a chalazia, is a common condition in adolescents. It is often caused by long-term irritation of the eyelid margin, excessive secretion of meibomian glands, or hyperplasia of epithelial cells, leading to obstruction of the ducts, retention of contents, and the formation of granulomas. Treatment methods include conservative treatment, hot compresses, massage, and physical therapy, and for larger cysts, surgical removal may be necessary.
